Crushing Issues at Portable Crusher Plants

Portable Crusher Plants offer a sustainable solution for the ever-expanding infrastructure demands, effectively crushing old asphalt and cement slabs into recyclable materials.

A prevalent issue faced by Portable Crusher Plants is the spillage of fine material, often stemming from poorly designed OEM chutes. This concern was evident with a customer in Norcross, GA. The inadequately sealed chutes allowed a significant amount of fine dust to escape during the transition from chute to belt. Our intervention involved the installation of new impact rails, incorporating Sparks Super Orange High-Wear Resistant Skirt Rubber. This enhancement effectively strengthened the seal between the chute and belt, mitigating further material loss.

Mistracking is another common challenge encountered in Portable Crusher Plants, especially at loading points where heavy cement and asphalt pieces can cause belt deviation. Leveraging our extensive experience, we quickly identified the issue and implemented a solution. The installation of a new pulley assembly featuring Dodge Bearings prevents belt slippage, and adjusted carrier rollers ensure proper belt alignment at loading points, reducing wear.

By addressing these challenges comprehensively, we not only helped the customer minimize downtime and reduce the need for constant material clean-up around the conveyor, but also extended the overall lifespan of the belt.
